Ancient Sentinel

Okay I just started grinding this guy this week. I beat him while only using 4 nanos.

Here was my formation:

Mega	Empty	Empty	Mega	Mega
Mega	Mega	Empty	Mega	Mega
	Blood Ninja	Radio Tech	Blood Ninja

Mega r5, BN r5, RT r3.

I lost the RT early but was able to keep my 2 blood ninjas alive for a long time by using freezing strike when it was available on the left arm and using the anti-armor strike on the body.

I lost both BN, the RT and 4 Megas. If I had timed it a little better I probably could have saved a couple of the Mega tanks. The Megas gained around 3000 SP and the others just under 800.

I'm thinking of bringing in my 3rd blood ninja and taking out the left arm first then taking out the body. Any suggestions? Skulls are still a little thin so I'm low on powder so any suggestions would be appreciated.

how about a formation for those of us who weren't fortunate enough to grab a blood ninja? Anybody have those?

I have R5 Mega and R4 RT. Probably wont be enough without nanos.

Just did the AS for the first time today.

My formation with only 4 mega tanks and no blood ninjas:

Hvry, Empty, Empty, Hvry, Mega
PW, Mega, Empty, PW, Mega
Treb, Mega, RT

Hvry R6, Mega R5, Portable Wall R4, Treb R6, RT R5.

Started with the raptor attack of the treb did good damage. Then just repeat fire from the mega tanks until the radio tech got a single shoot in. After that i lost the treb and radio tech so more mega tank fire right to the end.

I used 3 nano for healing, but didn't have to use the last nano. I didn't want to take any chances with my last two megas. Only suviving units was the two megas.

It's a cheap formation to heal and with either R6 mega tanks og R4 Portable Walls you don't need to use nano for healing.

This formation isn't working any longer.
I think the as got a small buff

just beat it for 1st time.

Used 2 R4 Supers, 4 R5 Megas, R6 treb, R4 RT and 2 R5 Hvr.

Used 16 nanos to heal and everyone died except for 1 mega.

Reward is lame if you don't get a frag...couple of gears, laurels and widgets...figure I'll wait to level tanks to cut down on nano usage.

my bad, also used 1 R4 portable wall and 1 hvr tank.

well, for those with enough megas my best result so far was with 9 r6 megas and 1 r5 rt.

4 megas survived and did not used heals.
attacked only main body.

Vallim, I'll wait to rank my megas to 6 before bothering again

Is RT a riot truck? Also how high of a level is it recommended to use the blood ninja effectively when battling the AS?

So the general strategy is just all-out on the body with megas? Anyone try killing the arms first?

i use cryotrooper and wimps to finish the ranged arm and boom bus to stun the melee. Finally deal body with megas

Beat AS with the following formation and no nano heals:

Mega Mega Mega Mega Mega
Mega Mega
Treb Mega RT

Treb and Megas are all R6. RT is R4.
Focused solely on the body and ignored both arms.
Everyone died except two megas (and they were pretty low). I did get in three shots with the treb's raptor before it died.

Guys heres the stratagy that i had used to beat the sentinal for the first time this week:
e      Wimp    e      e     Mega
Mega mega mega mega mega
       RT     Treb   ET
Megas and trebs are R6. Both radio tech and elemental are R3.
Only used 6 nano heals (didt have to use 3 of them)

I kill this thing at least 40 times and still no fragment.   I'm using megas R6 and RT5

Send support tickets to z2 then. Since the melee fragment droprate is 5.9%, you shouldve gotten 1-2 already.

In all seriousness would you send Z2 a support ticket for this?? I'm more interested to learn that if one did, would Z2 actually reward you with a frag? I've only killed AS twice but when I get to 40x and no frag just want to know if I can send a support ticket for some relief...

@divinestyler, it might work as i know bsr had done this before.

I know people are always looking for Ancient Sentinel info... especially no nano option.  Just used a new formation... No nanos needed for healing and 4 megas survived. Putting a soldier unit in the front row makes the AS easier because one of the melee arm attacks can't be used on non-vehicles.  Units, formation, and strategy below.

Units used:
5 r6 mega tanks
2 r6 veterans
1 r6 trebuchet
1 r5 radio tech
1 r5 elemental

Formation:
row 1:  Veteran  blank  blank  blank  Veteran
row 2:  Elemental  Mega  Mega  Mega  Trebuchet
row 3:  Mega  Radio  Mega    

Strategy:
1. Freeze the ranged laser arm with elemental
2. Raptor attack the frozen arm with the trebuchet
3. Finish off the arm with a veteran grenade launcher shot or a mega tank shot
4. After the laser arm is gone, attack the main body with mega tank shots, veteran grenade launchers, and radio tech precise strike.  Keep hitting the main body until its dead.  You shouldn't need any nanos to heal and 2-4 mega tanks should be alive when its over.

** I still don't have a ranged or melee fragment either

Tried a modified version of scallion strategy.

First row. ET, blank, blank, blank, Veteran
Second row. Mega, mega, mega, mega, mega.
Third row. Trebuchet, mega, radio tech.

Frozen ranged arm, then raptor, then mega. Arm is gone.
Attacked main body with megas until precise strike ready, then raptor again on main body, then megas until the end cause rt and treb died before striking again.

Dont used nanos on healing.

Lost ET, Vet, trebuchet, and radio tech.
All megas survived.

No fragment drop.

All units r6 except ET who is r5.

Also you can replace the Veteran with an eagle eye if you don't have them.

Well next time I use Vallim's formation with only one change.
Because my Veteran is only r4 I replace him with Colossus r6.

Hey guys first lets give scallion the credits for the formation. I just changed 1 vet for another mega.

Really? It's a huge difference from what happened to me. Think veteran can't be replaced by colossus. Mine vet survived almost till the end. Died 3 or 4 turns before sentinel's end preventing the use of checker attack of melee arm.
